EpXylon 9201 & 9202

The Quality EpXylon Solution

Previously, the resort applied brand “B” epoxy to repair the damage.This product lasted for only nine months & the plate and cover needed to be repaired again due to corrosion and rust (see pictures on the right showing the plate and cover 9 months after repairing with brand “B” product). With EpXylon’s excellent track record in the hotel industry in Egypt (please also read the success story dated 5 August 2005, also contributed by Engr. Nevin Raafat, about Four Seasons Hotel in Cairo, Egypt applying underwater EpXylon 9105 to repair the broken ceramic tiles in the swimming pool) and a 2-year guarantee confidently provided by our EpXylon distributor, the resort decided to switch to EpXylon 9201 and 9202 in 2007.

As for every quality repair job, surface preparation is important In this case, rubber stoppers were plugged into the heat exchanger tubes and then the “sand blasting” technique was used to prepare the surface for application of EpXylon Engineer Polymers. EpXylon 9202 was used to repair the heat exchanger plate and cover damaged by corrosion and then EpXylon 9201 was applied to provide a protective coating.

Total cost (including labour cost) of the repair job was about the same as that of using brand “B” products. However, EpXylon out-lasted the other product by at least 1/3 more (in terms of duration of protection). In 2008, one year after the above repair job by EpXylon, the resort inspected the heat exchanger and found that the treated parts were still in very good condition.Subsequently because of the excellent performance of EpXylon 9201 & 9202, the resort assigned a few more maintenance jobs to our Egyptian distributor, such as:
